I create each small runner option with a square of sterling silver, then hand stamp your chosen runner option (i.e., run ❤️, 13.1, 26.2, 10K, 5K, etc) and then solder the initial to a 16 gauge sterling silver textured band, then I tumble the finished ring for extra shine and strength.
